Water 21 July, 2021 Historic Reservoir Refurbishment Stonbury returned to a historic site to complete a large-scale refurbishment on a grade II listed stone reservoir. A roof was placed over the original build in the mid-twentieth century, and Stonbury were contracted nine years ago to install a Reg 31 Hylam liner due to ingress.
Water 1 July, 2021 Surge Vessel Access & Lining Refurbishment As part of an ongoing inspection and maintenance programme, Stonbury was contracted to carry out refurbishment works to one of the client’s surge vessels. This included fitting a new manway and recoating the internal surfaces.
Environment 28 June, 2021 Harbour Desilting & Flood Gate Release Stonbury was asked by the Environment Agency to propose and execute a solution to free a set of floodgates within a harbour on the bank of the tidal River Severn.
Water 1 June, 2021 Spillway Refurbishment Stonbury provides specialist inspection, maintenance and refurbishment of a variety of spillway structures to help clients ensure continued operational safety of large reservoirs.
Environment 17 May, 2021 HYDROMETRIC STATION ASSET MAINTENANCE Following the successful completion of routine maintenance works at over forty-five hydrometric stations, Stonbury has been awarded several contracts to manage and carry out routine quarterly maintenance at over one hundred gauging sites across Wales.
Wastewater 17 May, 2021 WWTW CAPITAL GROWTH & MAINTENANCE Working on behalf of an alliance partner, Stonbury carried out critical growth and maintenance works at a Wastewater Treatment Works in Scotland as a part of a capital maintenance programme. The works were required due to considerable population growth within the catchment area.
Wastewater 19 April, 2021 WASTEWATER ASSETS Stonbury provides specialist wastewater solutions across the UK, including new build programmes and innovative refurbishment and maintenance schemes that maximise asset lifespans and reduce carbon-heavy interventions.
Water 29 March, 2021 FILTER BED REFURBISHMENT As a part of an ongoing Slow Sand Filter Framework, Stonbury carried out refurbishment works to several filter beds that required repairs to the walls, and floor replacements due to deterioration over time and reduced performance.
Water 29 March, 2021 Access Track Installation Stonbury was contracted to construct a new trackway to improve access to a pumping station and extend the existing turning area. The works were required as the existing track became unusable during flood events and restricted emergency access to the pumping station.
Water 18 February, 2021 APPLICATION OF BONDED MEMBRANE TO CYLINDRICAL COLUMNS A client approached Stonbury to complete a routine flood test as a part of a flood test and cleaning programme. The flood test was carried out over five days due to the roof’s size - approximately 12500M2. The flood test revealed points of ingress and internal coatings that had failed.
Wastewater 18 February, 2021 BIO-FILTER LIVE REPAIRS Stonbury completed masonry repairs to three bio-filter beds in the South of England. The works took place in sequence to allow the bio-filters to remain in service for the twenty-week construction program duration.
