Reservoir Roof Replacement

Stonbury were recently contracted to install a bonded membrane system to a service reservoir roof. However, following further investigation, it was clear that with the configuration of the existing structure, this would not be possible.

Bridge & Spillway Refurbishment

The bridge came up in a section10 inspection, which was deemed to require attention. It was decided that a new protective paint system would be applied to the whole structure.

Public Park Desilt

Stonbury were contracted to carry out desilting works to an ornamental lake at a public park. The works required; a ‘Flood Risk Activities’ permit, pollution control and regular monitoring.

Stonbury recently completed a comprehensive river survey in the South West of England, to provide the client with a better understanding of the fish populations within a local river.

New Build Inlet Structure

As part of significant capital maintenance to a wastewater treatment works (WWTW) in Southern Scotland, Stonbury were contracted to construct a new sewage inlet structure during SR15, complete with inlet & outlet DI pipework and an RC magflow chamber.

Sludge Holding Tank Refurbishment

Stonbury were contracted by a framework client to refurbish two sludge holding tanks at a sewage treatment works constructed in the early 1970’s. The works formed part of a larger upgrade to the waste water treatment works and this element of the project required specialists in the application of chemical protective lining systems.

Bank Restoration

Stonbury were contracted to carry out comprehensive restoration works to a failing river bank that had become very unstable due to a water main leak.

Baffle Wall Replacement

Due to the presence of Chrysolite Asbestos inside a drinking water contact tank, Stonbury were contracted to remove a contaminated baffle wall and it’s supporting steel structure. The wall was to be replaced with a new thermoplastic baffle curtain.

Weed Control

Hydrocotyle ranunculoides, commonly known as Floating Pennywort is a non-native invasive species that is spreading rapidly throughout canals and other watercourses. Capable of growing at around 20cm per day, Pennywort creates thick strands of vegetation, obstructs water flow and often out-competes native species. Pennywort can also increase the risk of flooding in some areas.

Lagoon Repairs

As the main contractor for refurbishment works, a framework client required Stonbury to install a cofferdam system and carry out repairs to a settling tank at a water treatment works.

Inlet Chamber Reconstruction

Due to severe hydrogen sulphide attack, Stonbury were contracted to rebuild a failing inlet chamber at a wastewater treatment works (WWTW), this included the replacement of all defective rebars within the walls.

Slow Sand Filter Repairs

Stonbury were contracted by a framework client to complete ingress repairs to five, 3m deep, slow sand filter wells, at a WTW (Water Treatment Works). One of the wells was a 100 year old structure.
