Roof Refurbishment Over Live Water

Stonbury were contracted to refurbish the roof of a live contact tank & high lift sump to eradicate water ingress issues from existing membrane and joint failures.

This job consisted of:

  • Installation of 120m MOT roadway for access to the CT & HLS
  • Machine excavate soil overburdens and form trenches to the perimeter of both tanks
  • Break out 4th side concrete embankment of the HLS to 650mm below roof slab and reinstate with Gabion Baskets detail finish.
  • Prepare roof slabs for the application of 3615m2 Xeric membrane
  • Overband roof joints - Thoroflex
  • Install 1m wide reinforcement membrane strips over all perimeter roof wall joints/existing water bars
  • Install bitumen sheet roof membranes
  • Apply batten & Aqualine edge detail to perimeter of roofs and upstands
  • Install Geofabric membrane
  • Install new perimeter drainage system and outer perimeter land drains
  • Reinstate with 40mm stone overburden
  • Install GRP Walkway design and detail
  • Install New Hand railing edge protection
  • Reinstate tracked grounds
  • Reseed offsite stored spoil area with wild flower
