We are delighted to announce the increase in our service offerings to our clients across the UK, after the successful acquisition of Kingcombe Aquacare.
A final settlement lagoon required some TLC due to wildlife damage and bank slippage, causing the lagoon to leak.
After an initial assessment of the lagoon, we prepared a report and associated documents to help with the tender process. This project then came out in a competitive tender process, where we were awarded the contract.
The first part of the project was to complete a Land Drainage Consent with the local council to allow us to be able to work in the channel.
The works included the installation of a new gabion wall to support the bank and existing lagoons above and to avoid any further erosion and bank slippage.
The main part of the works included relining one of the final settlement lagoons as it has been damaged in several places which was causing the lagoon to leak.
Once the liner was removed, it could be seen that the vertical gabion walls had started to fail due to immersion and consequent corrosion.
We established an under liner drainage system and repaired the failed gabions. The faces of the repaired gabions were then lined with recycled plastic boards before installing a new EPDM liner. A new chain link fence was installed and an access path, offering easy access to operatives.
