Weir & Dam Refurbishment

We were contracted after lengthy client/designer/contractor investigation works to complete the full refurbishment of 10 No. weir and dam structures near Burton upon Trent. The site had been vastly converted to be a high profile strategic site but these structures landed outside the main development area and now required immediate upgrade in case of collapse.

Stonbury were recently awarded the contract for the repair and refurbishment of internal contact tanks within a Water Treatment Works facility.

Steel Bridge Refurbishment

Stonbury were commissioned by a local council for the refurbishment of three redundant railway bridges that form part of the Whistle Way Walkway at Narborough. Each bridge required a fully encapsulated scaffolding and traffic management on the though roads to facilitate the works.

To address the issue of safe access across several sites for a framework client, we recently completed a scheme to install new access staircases and handrails to tanks, where any existing staircases were not meeting client standards, or none were present.

Media Bays

Works were recently completed at two separate Water Treatment Works to increase the aggregate storage capacities. In total, six new standalone bays were constructed and a further two existing bays extended for increased capacity, used to store dirty sand, clean shingle, dirty shingle and carbon.

Stonbury, specialist contractors to the Water Industry, have recently completed the internal refurbishment of 2 steel sludge holding tanks.

Water Tower Steel Roof Fabrication

Stonbury were tasked with a refurbishment project for a Water Tower built in year 1910 in South East London. The building is an octagonal brick built tower which houses a 7.5m diameter x 22m high riveted cast iron water storage tank. A distance of only one metre between the tank and the tower wall was available for access and a long stair well which circulated the inner perimeter of the tower wall was the only means to access the tank roof.
