Wastewater 22 March, 2019 Inlet Chamber Reconstruction Due to severe hydrogen sulphide attack, Stonbury were contracted to rebuild a failing inlet chamber at a wastewater treatment works (WWTW), this included the replacement of all defective rebars within the walls.
Water 14 February, 2019 Slow Sand Filter Repairs Stonbury were contracted by a framework client to complete ingress repairs to five, 3m deep, slow sand filter wells, at a WTW (Water Treatment Works). One of the wells was a 100 year old structure.
Environment 14 February, 2019 Outfall Structure Repairs Stonbury was contracted to carry out comprehensive repairs to an existing outfall structure situated on a lake in the South West. The original scope of works involved desilting around the outfall pipework, however, following an investigation, deep voids were identified within the dam structure.
Environment 31 January, 2019 Lake Restoration Stonbury were approached by a private client to restore a neglected lake and its surrounding area. The lake had accumulated a considerable amount of silt build up and the grounds had become highly vegetated, offering no vehicular access and was prone to flooding.
Water 31 January, 2019 WTW Surge Vessel Replacement Stonbury was contracted to supply a replacement surge vessel for a water treatment works site. The original vessel had failed the relevant pressure vessel insurance requirements and after inspection of the asset, evidence of coating delamination and corrosion was also found.
Wastewater 21 December, 2018 WWTW Roof Replacement Due to water ingress into a high priority equipment building located on a waste water site, Stonbury were asked to complete a full inspection of the roof structure prior to recoating and waterproofing.
Wastewater 28 November, 2018 WWTW Tank Repairs Following a non-destructive testing (NDT) survey at a WWTW, it was identified that major concrete repairs were required to five tanks, to ensure the plant could remain in use. However, the works could only be undertaken during a full plant closure.
Water 24 October, 2018 Service Reservoir Asbestos Removal Stonbury were contracted by a framework client to return to a service reservoir that was initially taken out of service several years ago, after an inspection highlighted asbestos fibre contamination, due to a delaminating asbestos cement inlet main.
Environment 28 September, 2018 Flood Alleviation Scheme A village in East Devon was subject to regular flood events due to the low capacity of the surrounding drainage ditches. Stonbury was contracted to complete a flood alleviation scheme at three locations around the village, protecting residential properties as part of a broader flood defence strategy.
Environment 29 August, 2018 Fabrication Services Stonbury design and manufacture a wide range of fabrications and products in their in-house workshop and have the means to supply any item either fully assembled or in modular form to suit the installation requirements.
Wastewater 31 July, 2018 Wet Well Refurbishment Stonbury were contracted to undertake refurbishment works to a deteriorating waste water wet well. Inspection to the asset had found defected concrete surfaces and exposed and corroded steel reinforcement caused by hydrogen sulphide attack.
Wastewater 1 May, 2018 Lagoon Refurbishment A final settlement lagoon required repair and refurbishment work due to wildlife damage and bank slippage, which had caused the lagoon to leak. A ‘Land Drainage’ consent from the local council was required before the works to the channel could go ahead.
